A woman in India has died on Monday following a botched legal abortion that saw her slip into a coma shortly after having anesthesia administered for the abortion procedure. The victim, identified as 22-year-old S Sneha died during the early morning hours yesterday at Care Hospital.

The abortion was done a few days ago at a private hospital and the Express Buzz newspaper indicates she developed complications during the abortion.

This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). Secularists in Germany are furious at the assertion that the Nazi and Stalinist ideologies were developments of atheism, reports Germany’s The Local newspaper. Linking Stalinist communism and National Socialism through their mutual rejection of Judeo-Christian concepts of right and wrong, Bishop Walter Mixa of Augsburg said this weekend that atheism created the genocidal regimes of the 20th century.

Bishop Mixa also drew criticism earlier this year when he compared the number of abortions in recent decades to the Nazi’s attempt to exterminate the Jews.

The Mexican states of Jalisco and Durango have recently passed pro-life constitutional amendments by overwhelming majorities, becoming the sixth and seventh states to do so in recent months.

On March 26 in Jalisco, state legislators voted to amend article 4 of the state constitution to state that “this Constitution protects and guarantees the subjective public right of the individual to life, from conception to natural death, of people who are present within the territory of the state of Jalisco, as well as the others that are stated by the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.”
